Countdown to Amarillo! Part 2

The days are getting shorter before we enter Amarillo.  Many see this convention as history making.  I believe that they might be right but for different reasons.  Instead of electing the first female president of the BGCT, we could very well be taking back the BGCT from the elitest of the state.

I believe that we have the best shot of making a pivitol statement in Amarillo.  Why?  I think it will have a lot to do with where the convention is held this year.  Being in Amarillo, I believe that many West Texans will be in attendance.  I might be niave, but I tend to think that those of us out here tend to have our heads on straight and we can see wrong a mile away.  Give us the opportunity to correct things, we will do it, and then go along with our business.  I could be wrong, but that is how I see it.

Rev. Michael Chancellor will be offering up a motion to disband the current Executive board.  From what I understand this motion will go through and be voted on.  There has been quite a bit of disccusion about this on Dr. Davis’ blog.  I must concur with Dr. Davis not to vote in favor of this motion.  I like the idea of a vote of confidence for the Executive Board.  Doing this we can send a message of displeasure for what has been going on, and still have leadership in our convention during an interim process.

I do hope that somehow we can offer motions on the position of Ex. Dir, COO, and whatever other C we need to get rid of.  I still believe that they knew about Valleygate and did their best to cover things up.  To them I believe that we need to send a stronger message.  The question is whether we can get this to the floor for a vote.

BTW, it looks like we will Chamber of Commerce weather in Amarillo!  High’s in the low 70’s lows in the mid 40’s.  Maybe that forecast will hold out.  But remember this about Texas Panhandle weather, it can change on a dime.

Till Next Time!

I haven’t been to Amarillo in ages, probably 20 years or more. I was hoping for one of those famous, wind-driven snow-turns-to-ice storms. Maybe next time.

The more I think about it, the more I agree with you on vacating the exbd. I think a vote of confidence would be in order. As far as the administrative staff goes, the house needs to be cleaned, but it does not need to look like a vendetta. I expect the treasurer will resign soon, but if he hasn’t done so by convention time, then a date needs to be set for his departure as well.

Hey, I was just thinking–you’re in the panhandle. Is your church somewhere along the road from Houston to Amarillo? If you are not too far out of the way, I may drop in for Sunday services. Depending where I am on the road Sunday morning, I’ll be looking for a church. My email is lsaunders1957@gmail.com.

Terry, I’m having a lot of trouble reading any thing on your blog written in black or blue. Had trouble finding the comment link to tell you.
