It Has Been A Ride ……
Yes, it has been a ride for the past few weeks. My dad went into the hospital on November 18 and is still there. Right now we have him in Amarillo. Needless to say, I’ve been juggling the church, my home, and my dad since then. Not sure what this Christmas season will bring. I’m praying that I’ll get to have one last Christmas with my dad. That has been a rough prayer.
Through it all, God has been good! He has multiplied my time in studying for sermons (who would have thought that I could get more studying in a high school classroom for a sermon than my office?), and given me some incredible strength in dealing with my dad. There have been those minutes when I have felt like losing it and God has come through with a little extra strenth and grace. God is good!
Keep my dad and my mom in your prayers. It is difficult for Dad to sit up without losing his breath. He has only been out of bed a handful of times since the Saturday after Thanksgiving. That is what 45 years of smoking will do for a guy. I’ll be updating when I have a chance.
Remember that God is good all the time!

Will pray for your Dad. And yes God is good all the time!
I’ll be praying for you as well. I prayed that prayer myself, this will be my third Christmas without my Dad, but he made it through that holiday and I got to see him one more time, in June 2004, before he passed away that August. God is good, all the time.
